Literally Connected to John Lennon – Volume 6

Lynn Cousino Saldanha - February 21, 2001

"As soon as you’re born they make you feel small

by giving you no time instead of it all.

Till the pain is so big you feel nothing at all."

Working Class Hero / Lennon

Hullo Again and Welcome to Volume 6. A lesson in pain is what we have here! A lesson, a concept by which we can fear. No need to shake, nor hold someone dear. For that is what we fear the most. Abandonment. Loneliness. Sorrow in hatred and shimmy in sneer. Like pigs from gun see how they run, they simply just smile those piggies alone on their expert textpert hills of sty. See how they snied, and how they make those of us who are reaching out for something better…cry. I still cry. The Joker still laughs his crazed cackle knowing that everywhere he goes the sun shines through. Goo Goo Goo Joob!

"They hurt you at home and they hit you at school.

They hate you if you’re clever and they despise a fool."

There’s room at the top they are telling you still

But first you must learn to smile as you kill

If you want to be like the folks on the hill."

Working Class Hero / Lennon

Pain is fear and fear is a concept. Lennon said it before, that pain is that very concept by which we measure God. He didn’t believe in anything but that which was in the now. He. His family and their life. Fear is that which everything we as everyday people place our negativities, and that which holds us back from the very innermost soul search and light of truth. The fear of being an outcast, or different or diverse from the next. You can dress the dress, say the words act the part and try to impress. You can try to control who says what and what is where. It simply just does not work. It hold back. It holds you back from reaching any sort of growth and space in time that is viable and or even alive. You can wear the mask of plastered jovial crudeness and what lies inside is either victimization or condensation. What do you offer as an alternative or as a solution? Only problems, no solutions for the very evolution of the planet and its people.

"One thing you can’t hide is when you’re crippled inside."

Crippled Inside / Lennon

People are still hurting themselves. Everyday and in every way. Nations are still warring and conflicts still arise which stand to obliterate that which is now known. This causes fear at the highest level in people. Panic overrides sense and words of peace and love sounds silly and frivolous. Who listens when we cried out, War Is Over (If you want it)? Outdated sentiments from a time of revolution in evolution and flowers were powerful. Airy fairy and willy nilly some say. That was for the psychedelic times and who needs them now. That is over and done with. We are bigger and better. War is not cold any more and this is the new millennium. We are simply better than that. But did we not learn from exactly that before?

This past Friday military aggression was taken by the United States and Britain against Iraq. Fear rose in some. Predicated times of doom and gloom lurk largely in the minds of many awaiting an apocalypse and total devastation. Still others treat it all lightly feeling out of control in offering anything more than peanut gallery quips and mediocre attempts at humor playing victim all along to the good luck charm we have ridden over the past years. Madmen reign and blood is shed in the name of religious fervor. One button pushed…..BAM! Gone! Run for your lives and hide in the hills? What hills to hide in what air to breathe or water to drink. That’s the end of times worst-case scenario. Are we there yet? Do we even have to be?

I found a very cool book in the oddest of places. Closed away on a shelf in a closet with other fairy tales and rhymes gone by. It was a recent release written by David Sheff called, "All We Are Saying – The Last Major Interview with John Lennon and Yoko Ono". Of course I picked it up thinking what wonderful reference material this would make, and a great airplane read for an upcoming homeward flight. I have seen but never been drawn to this book, but what I found as I opened the cover page floored me. Take this quote in. Drink it. Feel it. Then refer back to Volumes 2, 3 and 4. If you ever doubted my collaborator on this LennonTask endeavor….read the following excerpt again, and again, and then again if you still doubt.

"Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King are great examples of fantastic nonviolents who died violently. I can never work that out. We’re pacifists, but I’m not sure what it means when you’re such a pacifist that you get shot. I can never understand that.

John Lennon, Playboy Interview, 1980

Lennon himself martyred and shot. Some are saying to make him a saint, others are saying he is an Ascended Master. Shot dead. I took a deep intake of breath and let it out slowly. I remembered the words I had written off so quickly last Saturday morning after a Lennon Connect lady emailed me in a panic of the bombings on Baghdad. I forget that some still fear, for I have personally not given into the doom and gloom. But that’s me, also. I don’t live in a fairy tale either believing no bad things are going to happen. Through and to note, over the past five (5) years in association with this Lennon connection thing I have a-happening, I have risen above many of the life’s fears, guilts and judgments. I mean let’s face it, ego like was shot out of the water. Like Lennon himself so aptly stated in his Rolling Stone interview with Jann Werner, ego was the first thing to get rid of. It is as I mentioned above that which keeps us on the merry go round of fear and digression. Once spirit rises above ego, or one’s spiritual self, it’s easy to see that all happens for reason. To see the big picture and know that we are on borrowed time. To reach via my own calling and commitment in the LennonTask out to as many people who can grab the key offered and allow it to click and turn their lives around. To uplift them from the inside out. Not to digress again, but this is basic stuff here. Lifetimes of karmic garbage and fearful baggage can block even that which is the lightest and brightest placing woolen mittens over the ears and piercing the tongue with words that stab in the back and cut out the heart. Damn that old worn out warrior mentality! What a mess it is making of the now for us. What a job cut out for those who fall into the ring of gently waking up souls dead even unto themselves.

Getting back to where I was, and to where I belong in this somewhat dissertate volume. I hear the fear and concern in the words written of a very gifted Lennon Connect. I paused and jotted off the following email which I sent to my buddy list of about sixty (60) and then onto Bagism.com posting the same onto the Sam’s, Lennon WebBoard. Give it a read and see what you think. How does this jive inside of you, based upon the new turn of events "cause / effect" wheel of instant karma that is now the latest and greatest, let’s see where it gets us, act of trying to keep world peace aggression.

I think I dubbed it as an email header:

Does History Repeat? All We Are Saying is Give Peace A Chance. Pass this onto 10 others.

Does history repeat? Are we in a time of having to remember concepts of peace and love which changed our lives before? Yes, it seems that we are here again. All we are saying is give peace a chance! Power to the people! Make love not war! Help! We need you to send this on to 10, and they onto 10 others. Blanket the world with words of peace and maybe it will make a difference. Just maybe it will. We will never know unless we try. Simply IMAGINE and send.

Based upon the military aggression taken by President Bush and Prime Minister Blair, words of wisdom against violence are coming back and are aimed to bring the world together. Peacefully calling out for acceptance and unity from our differences.

John Lennon actively stood for peace when the world cried out over the blood being shed. His words and his spirit have reached out from across the universe to render us with the guidance and the memory that the power to peace lies with the people, not the politicians.

Please mail this to 10 of your friends. They will mail to 10 of their friends. Let us…right here, right in the now come together and blanket the world with peace. From peace comes love. From love comes unity

Literally Connected to John Lennon

Still gives me goosebumples when I read it, for doesn’t it about say it all? No sitting on the cornflake or eating peanuts in the gallery. Hail to Lennon for bringing the woman to me who inspired the flow! Based upon fear as a concept and God as how we measure it, I would pretty much think that striking balance here is what is at the toppermost of humanity’s list of poppermosts "TO DO IN THE NEW MILLENIUM – 2001 EDITION". Come on people now…this is elementary stuff!

The first response was a machos tic plunder of all that Lennon stuff of Imagine and Peace and Love. It was claimed by the voice of one, that all was just a concept and un-reality, outdated and certainly unobtainable. I took a step back and realized, man, how to deal with someone who really can’t see the bigger picture here. Yes, indeed…there will be war and crime and outrage against it all. We will police the world and the world will hate us for it. We will find reason and give good ones. That’s okay…all part of the plot and the plan for things must get worse unfortunately for humanity before it gets better. Just the way that it is and the way that we tend to learn. Our own evolution is no exception. Sides will be drawn out very clearly very soon. Not in who’s the bigger and who has the better guns game that nations and men play. No more, I don’t want to play your game anymore and you can play mine instead for it’s right here for you to grasp onto and take hold of. There are other games out there which all lead to a higher light and better road. Yes, take the high road group tour. See the light at the end of our times tunnel. Stay out of the jail and stop being the bait to doom and gloom and the fear that the politicals and the machos deal out with eyes closed in erupted misunderstandings and violent tit for tats. Not that it is being suggested that martyrdom and victimization in any way is alternate. For that is far from pacific, but more like self-degradic. After just feeling the words that started my day on Saturday…from fear to bombing as a team sport, I listened to what was going on inside of my head. The words that I knew I would hear. How to bring forth an answer when we are back seemingly in primary nursery school of life evolutionized? I relied upon John for the answer from my disappointment in well, people. He did not let me down. Has not let an explanation go by unanswered. A synopsis of that is what we are looking for at this point in time is a balance. Something in the middle. To every act of aggression there will be repercussion. To every Iraqui madman who promotes violence and control, we must counteract such with things like love and kindness in our everyday life toward our everyday people. This sounds incomprehensible, but let the politicians play their stupid war games. At our level, the everyday working class heroes are where it’s all at. We are. We are it. We have to balance the lunacy of crime, war and violence with honor, respect and love. We have to make up for that which the others lack, and not to some extent to the full mill. We have to bring this world to balance soon. Every day in every way….make it better and better. Or…..or what? The lines will be drawn. The game plan set and game day will begin. It’s a conscious choice to go down in fear for the count and cry all the way in pain and degradation. Or to sit on the sidelines making piggie snides about the manics versus the pacificts all the while rooting for whatever teams wins and then jumping on the bandwagon like a sweet little lamb with daggers in the eye. We can play dead or we can be alive and live. Consciously live through this time. Bring the world to an everyday balance. Balance our own spheres and heed universal laws. Be the good karma on Earth. Sing the mantra, Peace on Earth. No don’t even sing it…BE IT! This is what this is all about. For every gun toting murderous act there can be reactively equal or better acts of world kindness. Like yeah….no doubt!

Pass that onto 10 others! Pass it onto 100 others in 35 different nations as Craig the Eggie Man did. Reach out and do it. Live it. Be it. Balance it. Then we can honestly say, "in every day and in every way it’s getting better and better." (Beautiful Boy, Lennon)

On a "isn’t it ironic" note, a young British lady sent me the following quote by Lennon which she found on a website. This is a real kick and smiggle for me personally! I have equated this gift I possess in being able to work with John Lennon from the Other Side and the Great Beyond, to that of any other artist who connects up and out with the conscious flow of All That Is. A painter would bring down which he sees up there and she would display it on canvas. The songwriter will hear what is in that flow and bring it to the musician’s bardic interprets. I am a writer and it is my easel, and the tunes are in my written tones. I connect up at a different level and bring out worlds and words unseen yet very much known, from the existable Great Beyond. Check this out:

"When the real music comes to me – the music of the spheres,

the music that surpasses understanding – that has nothing to do with me,

cause I’m just the channel: The only joy for me is for it to be given to me, and

to transcribe it like a medium…those moments are what I live for."

John Lennon

And that my friends, says it all! Confirmation and celebration at the risk of evolution in peace filled revolution!

"And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make."

The End / The Beatles

"I want you to make love not war."

Mind Games / Lennon

"We’re playing these mind games together – Pushing the barriers planting seeds –

Playing the mind guerilla chanting the mantra, Peace on Earth."

Mind Games / Lennon

"War is over if you want it. War is over now."

Happy Xmas (War Is Over)
